We just learned that there are still a few spaces
available for next week's Embellished African Mini Quilt
workshop. >From 10am to 4pm, we'll create
collage-style wall decor with batiks, bogolan
(mudcloth), beads, brass and fabric accents. Bring your
own materials and/or purchase them in class in this
informal study of collage. We'll also sneak down to the
current "Glass Beads of Ghana" exhibit for a
little extra creative stimulation! To register, see page

Feeling lazy this summer? It's allowed -- so if you'd
prefer to sit back and take in some artistic inspiration
rather than actually make something this month,
consider our "African Accents for the Home"
trunk show, hosted by the Rooselvelt Public Library in
Roosevelt, NY. I'll be sharing easy-to-execute ideas to
bring African Style to your surroundings, plus video
images of artists friends in Ghana,and we'll have a
select group of merchandise available, to help jumpstart
your creativity!

making your own stamps, mixing colors and creating your

In Stock -- Our Favorite Border Fabric!
This
African Mosaic Quilt project was featured in a previous
issue of Fabric Trends magazine (maybe 2006?), using
this black and beige print from Mali as the border.
Since then, the reaction to this print has been
enthusiastic at our show booths and workshops, and it
became clear that many of you loved it as much as we do!
We've recently located this great design for you, at a
cost of $8 per yard, 45" wide (available in half-
yard increments.)
We
